[North Star Mutual Insurance Company seeks an individual to investigate property and casualty claims, market our products to independent agencies, and complete underwriting inspections. Work is primarily in the assigned territory in South Dakota, but may include work outside the territory to assist with a localized catastrophe. To efficiently and effectively complete the required duties, it is important that the applicant live in Beadle, Buffalo, Jeraluld, Sanborn, Brule, Aurora, Davison, Hanson, Mellette, Todd, Tripp, Gregory, Charles Mix, Douglas, Hutchinson, or Bon Homme County.

　　[Applicants must be capable of following direction, assist other staff members, be a self-starter, and able to think and work on their own. Must have the ability to document and manage first and third party claim files in compliance with state law and company policy, conduct recorded statements, negotiate settlements, estimate damages, and prepare detailed reports.

　　[As a representative of the company, this position requires a person to appear and conduct them self professionally while maintaining rapport with our policyholders and Agent partners and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication abilities.

　　[Preference for this position will be given to those with basic knowledge of construction, farming, and technology. The duties include physically demanding activities (including climbing) and travel when necessary outside of the assigned territory.
