About This Role:
The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology within the College ofVeterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Fellow (Post Doc). Thisposition will support ongoing and future projects by planning,conducting, collecting, and analyzing research data; and disseminationof data through preparation of peer-reviewed articles and meetingpresentations.
Conduct research studying zoonotic viral diseases in vitro and invivo including work with large animals, mice, and mosquitoes. Thisresearch uses traditional and molecular virological techniques in aBSL-2 and BSL-3 settingAnalyze data and prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication;present data at local and national meetingsWhy Join Us:

What You\'ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in virology, microbiology, biology, animal science, entomology,molecular biology or other related science.Four years experience with viruses, molecular biology, cell culturetechniques, research conducted in BSL-2 and BSL-3 environmentsincluding animal research.Ability to work independently and as a multicultural team member.Ability to manage and prioritize personal work tasks and projectswithin the confines of time and available personnel.Proven experience writing and editing peer-reviewed manuscripts andpresenting research at local and national meetings.Preferred Qualifications:
Basic virology skills: cell culture, PCR, RNA extractions, PRNT,etc.Basic animal skills: animal handling, necropsy, etc.Basic entomology skills: rearing, feeding, analysis - preferablywith mosquitoesOther Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United Statesat the time of employment.Ability to pass a baseline physical; ability to wear personalprotective equipment required for work in BSL-3 laboratories. Thisjob has potential for safety hazard exposures and infectious diseaseexposure. Protective vaccines will be offered as needed. Ability tolift/maneuver large animals in a high containment environment.Ability to undergo and maintain a favorable backg ound investigationand National Select Agent Registration security risk assessment.How to Apply:
