NATURE OF WORKAs a member of the Parks, Recreation & Culture Division, Individuals inthis position perform a variety of park maintenance tasks. This positionprovides support to all aspects of parks maintenance operations. This includesbut is not limited to excavating holes for grave sites, groundsmaintenance, facility construction, landscape construction, janitorialsupport, small equipment operation and special event support. May requireevenings and weekends. May work up to 1456 per year.
Positions will work a Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday schedule,which may also require evening and holiday hours on an occasional basis. Thispart time employment may be scheduled through the year on a full-time basisdepending on the needs of the town,but cannot exceed 1,456 hours.
Please note that town employees (including seasonal employees) may only beemployed in one classification at any one given time.

Essential Job FunctionsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe individual in the Parks Maintenance Technician role is assigned specificassignments, job duties, scope, authority, responsibility, roles andrequirements as determined by the town, department, division, andpursuant to laws, regulation and practices. Individuals in this positionmust be able to successfully perform, be responsible for, and/or assistin the fulfillment of many job functions and duties, with or withoutreasonable accommodation.The following duties and responsibilities areillustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended tobe all inclusive:Requires operation of light hand power tools, ability tooperate light equipment and perform general park and janitorial maintenanceand support of recreation events and activities.Trimming, refuse pick-up, cleaning of restrooms, edging, weeding,general clean-up, excavating holes for grave sites.Operating riding mowers and hand mowers in mowing park turf areasPlayground inspections and minor repairsPainting, minor repairs of park fixtures and simple construction projects.Maintenance of ball fields, soccer fields, and tennis courts. Dutiesinclude installing pitching rubbers, home plates, bases and base pegs,watering and dragging of fields talc lining fields, cleaning of dugouts andareas associated with ball fields. Soccer field maintenance includesinstalling nets; layout of fields, marking lines and refuse pickup. Tenniscourts to include tennis net installation, cleaning of courts and refusepickup of associated areas.Cleaning and maintenance of park mowers and other related park maintenanceequipment.Performs work in a courteous and safe manner and maintain workingrelationships with co-workers.Effectively communicates with the public and maintains a courteous and helpingattitude.Works in a team environment as part of the Parks division.Performs and fosters an environment of safe work practices and report safetyissues promptly to direct supervisor.Performs other related work as required and assigned.OTHER DUTIESDepending on organizational need, additional duties may includethe following:The Parks Maintenance Technician position participates in the Shared FleetVehicle Program, which requires an annual motor vehicle re ord check.Performs research as directed, such as discovering new technology ortools, market research, etc.Performs related duties as established by law/ordinance or reasonablydirected by the town.Assists other town departments/divisions, as necessary.Assist with Snow Team operations from October through April.Education, Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND FORMAL TRAINING
Must be at least 18 years of age.Some experience in the use of power mowers, electric tools, hedgetrimmers, weed eaters, and assorted gardening implements and operation oflight equipment.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATESMust have a current Colorado Driver s License or the ability to obtain oneupon hire, that meets the Town of Windsor s standards.CPR/1st Aid certification within three (3) months of employment
