Position: Facility Maintenance RepairerDepartment: Parks & RecreationDivision: Cultural AffairsRate of Pay: $14.75/hr.
Nature of Work:This is semi-skilled maintenance and repair work position. Job duties may at times include, but are not limited to, examine objects, equipment, systems, centers' structure and analyze information to determine needed installations, services or repairs. This position will include performing custodial responsibilities to ensure cleanliness and organization of the centers indoors and outdoors. The Division Manager of Cultural Affairs will review work for quality and actual work performed.
Examples of Work:• Completing preparations and set-up for events, includes, but is not limited to transporting equipment, tables, chairs, etc. and breakdown of event.• Ensuring centers and spaces are clean and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment at all times.• General maintenance such as change air filters/light bulbs, paint or touch up small areas.• Establish preventative maintenance work and repairs.• Review repairs and other maintenance request/follow-up on work orders.• Monitor inventory, list and report restock supplies.• Maintains maintenance/safety records.• Inspect equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.• Performs related work as instructed/required.• Enforce policy and safety practices as outlined in the employee handbook.
Desirable Qualifications:Requires High School Diploma or G.E.D., plus (3) year of experience in a related field. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Basic knowledge of AV/sound equipment and computer systems. Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work nights and weekends. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Must have and maintain a valid Mississippi driver's license. May require responding to overtime calls that occur after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
