TitleExperienced Traffic Control Technician (Year Round) (Salt Lake City, UT)
DescriptionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Traffic Control Technician TCT Level III:Create and maintain a safe work zone that ensures that traffic stays out of the way of the workers. This involves setting up and removing temporary cones, signs, variable message boards, and safety barriers that show traffic where to drive, as well as holding up signs that tells traffic to either stop or to proceed slowly. Traffic Control Technicians must constantly be aware of both the construction and traffic activity taking place around them. May be asked to lead job site team with instructor/monitor and train crew members on safety procedures. Also, assist with explaining job duties and responsibilities to the new employees, and report to the TCS or Traffic Control Supervisor.* Pay Rate = DOE Depends on Experience level (Pay Range $22 - $32 per hour)* Excellent Benefits Package* Create Road Closures: Set-up signs, cones, etc. around work areas to divert traffic* Follow all safety rules and regulations, wearing proper safety equipment* Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures* Construction Environment* Outdoor work year roundOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:* Complete daily paperwork accurately.* Work well in a team environment (be the example).* Provide highest level of customer service to all customers.* Must be able to lead job site team and instruct/monitor and train crew members on safety and job assignments. Read, implement and maintain Traffic Control Plan as detailed by Site plan. Assist in training of TCT I employees.* Expert knowledge of our business, reading and executing TC plans.* Expertise with all of our job site materials.* Ability to reset/program Variable Message Board's (VMB).* Other duties as assigned.
Position RequirementsWORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; moving equipment and machinery parts; moving traffic, and fumes and airborne particles* Dealing with traveling public effectively* Noise level of the work environment is usually moderate/loud* Regularly required to stand/walk; reach with hands and arms; for up to 14 hours a day* Occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 poundsREQUIREMENTS:* Able to pass a UA drug test.* Excellent attendance required, dependable transportation, good work ethic.* Ability to participate and pass Flagger certification, and driver training.* ATSSA TCT Certification needed if over 2,000 hours of service subject to state/local requirements.* Must have a valid Driver's license.* TMA Trained and Certified / We provide the training.* Successfully pass Company provided Defensive Driver Training / We provide the training.We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran
