Required Skills and Abilities:
-Previous hotel sales experience preferred
-Previous experience in hotel convention services or event management
-Banquet and marketing experience highly favored
-Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs, negotiate pricing, effectively deal with internal and external guests and provide overall guest satisfaction
-Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation abilities
Job Description:
-Responsible for 10 to 15 rooms on peak night, not to exceed 50 total room nights.
-Make prospect calls for assigned market segments: Group Corporate, Government, SMERF (Excluding Sports Teams and Association).
-Receive and respond to all customer inquiries, negotiate and capture all
profitable rooms & catering business in accordance with selective selling guidelines.
-Conduct site tours and pre/post-con meetings when required.
-Prepare and send proposals and contracts to potential clients.
-Detail events to include all food/beverage, set up and audio-visual needs and ensure the details meets the client expectations.
-Maintain an active list of top accounts to ensure continuous relationship building activities. Top
accounts should be frequently contacted, visited, entertained, etc.
