✨Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of at-risk youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for an Equine Therapist at Childhelp, Alice C. Tyler Village in Lignum, Virginia✨

We offer a $2,500 sign-on bonus! ($1,250 after 90 days of employment and $1,250 after 180 days of employment).

Childhelp is a psychiatric residential treatment facility that specializes in the treatment of children aged 5-14 with mild to severe trauma or neglect, psychiatric disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Our unique location on a 270-acre farm provides a nurturing treatment setting with a variety of therapy resources. We bring the light of love and healing into the lives of countless abused and neglected children, and those suffering from psychiatric and behavioral disorders. We take a holistic approach to serving our children along with meeting their physical, emotional and educational needs. Pay: Starting at $75,000 annually based on experience.

What you will do: As the Equine Therapist at Childhelp, you will conduct individual, group and family therapy with our youth assigned to your personal caseload (8-10 youth). Responsible for overall delivery and implementation of each individual Client Treatment Plan, attending Child and Family Team meetings and treatment team meetings, and completing assessment, Client Treatment Plans and reports as required by the county and state. Attend to clients, families, and referral source concerns as well as providing timely reports on treatment obstacles and progress. Documents treatment interventions and results in a timely manner.

To be considered you should: Be at least 21 years of age Be PATH certified preferred Possess a Master’s degree in social work from an accredited School of Social Work or a Master’s degree in a related Mental Health field Licensed by the State of Virginia as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC OR Licensed as a Resident in Counseling (RIC) or Supervisee in Social Work (SiSW) Minimum of 2 years of work experience providing mental health counseling services to children, adolescents, and their families Be able to perform a therapeutic restraint Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 40 hours a week
