Job Description:
Seeking a full-time environmental field technician in Miami. Environmental technicians work with scientists and engineers on a variety of land redevelopment, electric utility, remediation, chemical/petroleum spill, and municipal solid waste landfill projects.
Field technician must follow regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures, and company protocols, exercise independent judgement and be able to complete tasks and projects with minimal direction from management.
They will primarily be responsible for the operation and maintenance of groundwater remediation systems, but other duties could include:
Well installation oversight
Groundwater sampling
Surface water sampling
Soil Sampling- Stock Pile and Soil Blending
Air/ Vapor monitoring
Field notes preparation
Surveying
Qualifications:
Experience with environmental remediation field work preferred or strong mechanical aptitude with experience trouble shooting machine parts and basic electrical work.
Must be willing to work in the outdoor elements full time.
Computer skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time
Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing
Strong communication skills, great attention to detail, and solid judgment are a must.
Completion of (or willingness to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training
