About the Role
This position reports directly to the Sr. Environmental Specialist and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below:

• Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between internal and external customers and suppliers.
Your Responsibilities
• Manage environmental activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of staff (if applicable).
• Guide the development and implementation of Environmental policies and programs.
• Ensure legislative compliance with EPA, EPD, and serve as a liaison with area representatives.
• Maintain necessary permits and ensure all reporting is done accurately and timely.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections and establish measurable standards from which further recommendations (continuous improvement) can be made, with effective follow-up.
• Coordinate isocyanate awareness training program and monitor on a continuous basis.
• Environmental Responsibilities:
• Land: Oversee spills management program, outside storage of materials, and landfill disposal management
• Water: Ensure all process water discharges to sanitary sewers is in compliance with regulations.
• Hazardous Waste: Coordinate and manage hazardous waste program.
• Coordinate recycling efforts of all recyclable scrap.
• Direct services of contracted personnel.
• Direct management team relating to EH&S issues.
• Keep the HR Manager and General Manager up-to-date on matters relating to environmental, health and safety and other areas of human resources.
• Serve as the ISO 14001 Management Representative.
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Directs hazardous waste management training.
• Conducts hazardous waste management training.
• Serves as backup RCRA Emergency Coordinator.
• Notifies emergency response personnel and on-call facility manager during emergency occurrences.
• Documents emergency actions.
• Supervise/oversee the preparation of hazardous waste shipments.
• Review hazardous waste manifests and accompanying land disposal restriction notification forms for compliance.
• Resolve manifest discrepancies.
• Prepare hazardous waste manifests and supporting documentation for outgoing shipments of waste.
Who we are looking for
• Minimum of two years Health, Safety, and Environmental experience, preferably in an Injection Molding and Painting facility.
• Demonstrated strength with analytical/problem solving, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
• Must have working knowledge of Industrial Ergonomics.
• Must have strong computer skills in a Windows platform.
• Experience in computer skills such as Microsoft Word or Excel
• Fluent in English (reading and writing).
Your preferred qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
