JOB SUMMARYCleans and sanitizes the physical environment in the area assigned, meeting performance standards set up for the position under the direction of the Environmental Services Supervisor.Reports to: Environmental Services Director

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCleans and maintains assigned area.Prepares hospital rooms for new admissions.Observes, critiques, trains and motivates housekeeping staff while they perform their daily tasks.Notifies supervisor of maintenance problems and supply.Responsible for floor care in assigned area.Delivers and collects linen.Collects and disposes of trash.Notifies supervisor of maintenance problems and supply needs.Performs special projects in assigned areas.Demonstrates flexibility in performance of tasks.

JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent - PreferredRequired SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must beable to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Prior work experience desirable. Ability to stand eight hours daily, kneel, reach easily, climb stairs and ladders, and willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis, despite frequent interruptions.
