Summary You will serve as an Engineer or Scientist in the Electro-Optic Science & Technology Branch of the Electro-Optic Technology Division of the Special Warfare & Expeditionary Systems Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. ND-05 is equivalent to the GS-14/15. Responsibilities You will serve as the Chief Scientist of Imaging Technology (CHIT) within the Electro-Optic Technology Division (EOTD). You will be responsible for developing and maintaining expertise in image system component technologies across the full spectrum of electro-optic systems and deployed platforms. You will be responsible for advising the Chief Engineer, Chief Scientist, and Division Head on basic and applied research, technology transition efforts, test and evaluation. You will help guide basic and applied research through our government, industry, and academic partners as well as guiding internal projects where gaps in the technology occur. OR Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours are in calculus.
