The SARA, Inc. High Power Electromagnetics Division (HPEM) is lookingfor a remarkably talented, motivated, and imaginative Applied Physics(AP) Engineering Technician to support research and development activitiesand transition innovative technologies to the DoD, DoE, and theircontractors in Colorado Springs, CO. The candidate will have the opportunityto grow and learn with talented engineers, physicists, and technicians onlong-standing programs and new programs supporting our customers. Our smallgroup will allow the candidate to experience, contribute, and collaboratein a multidisciplinary nature from conception all the way through to operation.
Core Responsibilities:* Maintain various lab workspaces, including inventory, tool, andequipment management* Stock and maintain electronic components and hardware* General engineering and maintenance support* Assisting in the lab including set up, testing and tear down of projects* Support prototyping and testing of other Pulsed Power and Directed Energyprojects as needed* Basic electrical work, i.e., soldering, wiring* Basic diagnostic testing
Requirements:* High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience/combined education* Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS security clearance* US Citizenship required* Up to 4 weeks (non-continuous) travel in support of testing or othercustomer requirements* Willing to learn new specialty skillsets* Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail andmultitasking skills* Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and Email)* Clean driving record as defined by the state of Colorado with ability toobtain and maintain a DOT medical certification* Ability to do strenuous physical effort, including bending, lifting,twisting, crawling, and carrying or lifting up to 50lbs* Working environment may be indoor or outdoor, moderately loud,reasonably clean, lighted and ventilated, physical hazards may exist
Preferred Qualifications:* Experience in multiple trades; carpentry, construction, electrical, etc.
