The Engineering Project Manager II is responsible for planningand executing product development activities including new productintroductions, cost reduction, technology integration, and lifecycleproduct support. The position requires strong technical andcross-functional product development and business process knowledge,superior people leadership skills, functional and project managementexperience, proficiency in quality systems, and business planningknowledge. This position works closely with the product business groupsand other functional leaders in the company (product management,engineering, service, manufacturing operations, supply chain, marketing,quality, IT, finance) and is responsible for providing leadership andmanagement for projects supporting a Generac business area / productline. This leadership role is responsible for planning and executingproduct development project plans which ensure superior products forCustomers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provide projectmanagement leadership to teams for new product development projectsincluding creating schedules, building product development plans,integrating the activities of cross-functional team members. Implementproduct requirements into project scope, design and product realizationrequirements. Lead key project execution, in primary collaboration withengineering and product management for new product development orsimilar product initiatives. Plan and execute multiple large, complexprojects to meet or exceed schedule, project cost, scope and qualitycommitments. Achieve target product cost for Generac and product lifecycle cost for Customers. Effectively execute and provide suggestionsfor improvement the product development process. Utilize the GeneracDevelopment Process (GDP) Milestones and Design Reviews as key driversof product development progression. Define and drive Risk and Mitigationplans for projects. Define and lead contingency option assessments whenneeded, then select and execute mitigation plans. Facilitatecollaboration between departments to identify and harvest new productdevelopment concepts, technologies, techniques, standards andprocedures.
