Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Stamping Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineering Manager, Stamping
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage a diverse team of 4-7 engineers in the Stamping Equipment group.
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the person in this role will lead a team of Stamping Project Engineers to complete installation of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment for safety, obsolescence upgrades and new model introduction. The Engineering manager will develop long term strategies to support Stamping department and corporate objectives as well as coach, train, and develop the team of engineers to execute highly technical projects on time, on budget while maintaining our high standards for safety and quality.
What you’ll be doing
Manage a team of 4-7 project engineers
Develop long term Stamping strategies for safety and obsolescence upgrades
Develop Team Member’s through training programs and on job development
Identify bottlenecks in engineering processes to countermeasure, kaizen and Yokoten
Support the completion of department goals and yearly Hoshin activities
Lead Shutdown Planning for Equipment group
Lead Fiscal Year CAPEX planning with North America Manufacturing Centers (NAMC)
Ensure Engineering projects comply to all local and governing safety standards
Support new model launch and GSPH improvements through equipment installations and upgrades.
Support implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies to bring stamping into the future of smart manufacturing.
Coordinate/facilitate new model Die team (PUGI) local projects
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or 5+ equivalent professional experience required
4+ years of experience managing, leading, and coaching engineering teams with positive results
Experience in Equipment project management including capital budget planning, equipment ordering, install, and commissioning
4+ years of experience in a strategic leadership role such as project leader, mentor, or direct people management
Experience identifying and implementing innovative process improvements in a manufacturing environment such as line efficiency, environmental C02 reduction or similar
Experience documenting and reporting to management on project status and activity results using Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI.
Ability and willingness to travel both domestics and international, up to 40% when required
Ability to work up to 25% overtime when required, including weekends, holidays, and plant shutdown periods

Experience in OSHA, ANSI, CSA, NFPA regulations and codes
