Our small,dedicated Engine Development Group develops the entire engine and workson everything engine related. The Engine Development Manager isresponsible for all engineering development including new productintroductions, cost reduction, technology/research, and lifecycleproduct support. This position requires excellent engineering and engineknowledge coupled with superior people leadership skills, proficiency inquality systems, functional and program management experience, andproject planning expertise. Working closely with business groups andfunctional leaders (Service, Operations, Supply Chain, ProductEngineering), this position will also be responsible for providingexecutive leadership and management of the residential andindustrial/commercial engine development with a focus on timely andquality engine project delivery. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Ability to provide engineering leadership and design oversight functionsfor current and new product development projects including creating andmaintaining development schedules, executing product development plans(schedule, product cost, resources to complete project, quality targets,product specification adherence, and validation test plans, etc.)Ability to foster collaboration between engineering, sales, operations,finance, and other departments. Ability to identify and harvest newengine technologies, techniques, standards and procedures. Ability totranslate technical information to all audiences. Ability to collaboratewith internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers,and product specialists to optimize complex and advanced designs formanufacturability. Ability to support product development plans(schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs). History of designs,validation, specifying design requirement, and bringing new products tomarket. History of development testing, system integration of complexcomponents, component/system cost (including cost/benefit analysis),engine reliability (risk analysis), and safety. History of managingexpenses, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting corporate goals(e.g. revenue growth, profitability, market penetration, quality).Create and maintain an organizational culture which encouragesinnovation, collaboration, a sense of urgency toward goals, andcontinuous improvement.
