Exp. - KPFF's Special Projects Group is seeking a full-time Design-Build Deputy Design Manager in our Seattle or Tacoma office.KPFF's Special Projects Group has an opening for a Design-Build Deputy Design Manager in our Seattle or Tacoma office. We are seeking a highly motivated person with a passion for engineering excellence and experience delivering complex fish passage, roadway and transportation improvements on design-build projects. This position will provide the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and contractors delivering diverse public works infrastructure projects including fish passages and major transportation improvements.Key Responsibilities (or) Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesSupport the Design Manager to coordinate with all complimentary disciplines (roadway, drainage, structural, traffic, public involvement and environmental), technical preparation and supervision of roadway and transit design tasks including quality reviews.Supports the management of the project, scope, schedule, design, and quality.Builds and maintains relationships with local and national contractors.Builds and maintains relationships with local teaming partners.Builds and maintains relationships with owners, specifically WSDOT and Sound Transit relative to design-build pursuits and projects.Supports the design-build proposal process, including technical work group participation and management, technical proposal preparation, alternative technical concepts, cost proposal, schedule, and coordination of these elements with the contractor's proposal.Reviews plans, prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents and estimates.Leads, develops and reviews post design construction related tasks including; NDCs, FDCs, RFIs, PCO's and manage design risk through construction.Assures the project team complies with the contract agreement as well as exercises rigid cost control to implement the approved design within established budget restraintsSupports hiring, development, and mentoring of design-build project staff.Example of Projects:

Minimum of 8 years of civil design and management experience with a PE in the State of Washington or ability to get reciprocity5+ Years of experience on large Department of Transportation (DOT) projects3+ Years working on transportation Design-Build ProjectsB.S. in Civil EngineeringProficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPointAn appreciation for the importance of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the workplace.
