  Job Description

  HII’s Mission Technologies division is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to support Naval System Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Dam Neck Activity (DNA) Training and Readiness (T&R) systems and technical engineering requirements. Current naval shipboard integrated training systems (ITS) include, but are not limited to, Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT) and Advanced Training Domain (ATD).

  The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending upon assignments and other factors.

  Essential Job Responsibilities

  Duties and Responsibilities (to include, but not be limited to the following):

  Participate as a member of the System Engineering Group by participating in various Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and Working Groups (WGs). Provide technical and system design working group meeting reports which include a summary of significant meeting events, diagrams, agreements, and action items.

  Provide engineering support in responding to Software, Hardware and Document Trouble Reports (STR/HTR/DTR) by developing a written response and/or generating an Initial Requirement Proposal (IRP), Engineering Change Proposal (ECP), Interface Change Request (ICR), Field Change (FC) or other applicable change proposals to resolve the reported problem.

  Provide engineering and documentation support to develop and update various baseline requirement specifications as required. (e.g., Interface Requirements Specification (IRS)/Interface Design Description (IDD), etc.)

  Respond to Technical Questions from LSE by developing a written response and/or generating an IRP or ECP to resolve the reported problem.

  Respond to cost review of IRPs and ECPs. This effort includes a consolidating cost input to the LSE.

  Analyze Participating Manager (PARM) Ship Control Designs (SCDs), CPCRs, FST reports, Program level documents, Warfare area training gap messages, System weapon specifications, System requirements specification, IRS/IDDs, CDDs, Trade studies, Decision option papers and White papers developed by other activities for impact to IWS-1IT FoS.

  Participate in PEO-IWS 1IT and/or NSWCDD DNA IRB, Local Configuration Control Board (LCCB), Configuration Control Board, (CCB) and Patch Control Board, as required. Prepare and/or present briefs, technical/point papers, plans and processes.

  Minimum Qualifications

  Required:

  Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline with 6 years full-time professional experience as a systems engineer in at least one major shipboard, non-propulsion electronic subsystem

  Solid background and knowledge of systems engineering

  Self-motivated and passionate about supporting the customer and solving complex engineering challenges

  Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear, concise and technically accurate manner

  Security:

  Must possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  Must be a U.S. Citizen

  All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements

  The selected applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
