  As a Mechanical Engineer - Aftermarket Support, you will be supporting the manufacturing engineering and repair team with troubleshooting and improving the maintainability of various galley equipment such as ovens, beverage makers, chillers, and refrigerators. You will be reporting into a engineering manager. This position is based in Lenexa, KS.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Support troubleshooting of rogue/ difficult units

  Support the design and development of repair tooling

  Support with the setup of lower-level repair instructions per business needs

  Improve documentation/ troubleshooting guides

  Support with engineering investigations

  Improve in-service removal data collection and classification

  Aid in development of repair vs. replace options for subassemblies

  Performs other related duties as required

  Qualifications/Experience Needed :

  Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

  Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Experience with heating/ cooling equipment

  Design mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability

  Understanding of engineering processes and IT tools

  Excellent communication skills

  Disciplined and result driven

  Decision making and problem-solving skills

  Understanding of electronics

  The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
