　　Job Overview

　　The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) works as a member of amulti-disciplinary team to provide emergent/urgent patient care inaccordance with Children's Hospital Colorado's (CHCO) mission. TheEMT functions under the medical direction of the EMS Medical Director and issupervised by the on duty attending physician, advanced practice provider,registered nurse and CHCO leadership within the scope of practices as dictatedby Children's Hospital Colorado training, competencies and guidelines.

　　Education: High school diploma or equivalent, and graduation from anaccredited/certified Emergency Medical Technician program (one of thefollowing required)Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with IV certificationAdvanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)ParamedicMilitary/Combat Medic Specialist TrainingCertification(s):Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and relevant lifesupport certification as determined at position level.BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR forthe Professional Rescuer or ASHI Basic Life Support for Health Providers withcard in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixmonths from date of hire.State of Colorado Emergency Medical Technician certification requiredEMTs only - IV Certification requiredIf you are an AEMT, Paramedic, or have completed Military/Combat MedicSpecialist training, a separate IV certification is not required
