Description
SUMMARY: Accountable for the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department during the night shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports and implements actions to meet budget targets.
Assists in the development, implementation and monitoring of departmental goals.
Reports employee relation issues that may affect turn-over rate and works with nurse manager.
Reports employee relation issues that may affect turn-over rate and works with nurse manager and or director in development of corrective plan of action.
Actively participates in department orientation program. Works with preceptors toward facilitation of program. Evaluates receptor, as well as, orientee performance.
Supervises and assesses status and the quality of care to all patients. Takes appropriate actions as required and communicates with department leadership.
Promptly investigates complaints. Implements corrective action. Follows established protocol in documenting complaints.
Evaluates Nursing Education in-service, staff development and orientation programs.
Support staffing and scheduling within the department. Will also have payroll responsibilities.
EDUCATION: BSN
EXPERIENCE: RN Emergency Room is required. Supervisory experience in an emergency department strongly preferred.
HOURS: Full time night position. 4 10 hour shifts. 2 Weekend shifts per month.
