The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Specialist 2 is responsible for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) aspects of the business. This role handles back-office functions as part of the GBS EDI Team, including coordinating and executing various process improvements. Must be comfortable working closely with multiple internal business functions, as well as external customer EDI functions, to investigate escalated issues and drive solutions with minimal supervision. is responsible to help drive efficient business systems processes and metrics reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain all Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) tables in SAP and work closely with the Master Data team to ensure customer and material master data integrity so that system functionality is maintained.
Identify and investigate EDI processing errors and determine a timely resolution.
Maintain knowledge of EDI transactions and stay up to date on protocols and standards.
Collaborate with EDI provider to ensure mappings are functioning properly. Facilitate new mappings as needed.
Execute SAP Test Scripts based on needed system changes.
Coordinate and test all EDI implementations/integrations alongside our EDI provider.
Manage effective internal and external communications for issues involving EDI transactions and customer implementations.
Document and maintain all business-system-related procedures.
Monitor inbound documents (iDoc), transmission and error reports, daily logs and processes.
Work with IT organization to coordinate EDI and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) maintenance and enhancement.
Foster collaboration across the business to facilitate the design, review, and evaluation of existing / proposed manual and automated operations.
Execute applicable Quality System processes and monitor the accuracy of service provided

Must possess strong SAP, EDI and overall technical skills
Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Must be detail-oriented, a critical-thinker, experienced at investigating and resolving complex issues
Must have ability to gather project requirements and specifications for improvement.
Must be able to communicate professionally and clearly present solutions to non-EDI teams
Must prioritize and execute tasks in an efficient and timely manner

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required
Two or more years EDI experience or other sales order automation solution required
Experience with EDI integration and understanding the different transaction types
SAP or other ERP system experience required
Functional knowledge of Finance, Customer Service, or Supply Chain end-to-end processes preferred
Experience with process mapping preferred
