　　This 2nd shift ELECTRON MICROSCOPY TECHNICIAN role will be based at the Howmet Research Center, located in Whitehall, MI. The position’s basic responsibilities include;

　　Perform analysis using scanning electron microscopy and related equipment in support of Howmet Aerospace locations.

　　Work as part of a diverse team providing materials characterization support for Howmet sites globally.

　　Document and perform work to customer requirements, specification and instructions related to analysis methods.

　　Prepare summaries and reports to organize and document findings.

　　Regularly communicate with customers and staff on analysis status and results.

　　Coordinate electron optics equipment maintenance and repair.

　　Basic Qualifications:

　　High school diploma or equivalent.

　　1+ years of laboratory or production environment experience.

　　Ability to operate metallographic preparation and analysis equipment, including saws, mounting presses, polishers, optical and electron microscopes.

　　Ability to read and interpret procedures, specifications, and requirements.

　　Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

　　This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　A.S. or higher degree from and accredited institution.

　　2+ years of hands-on electron microscopy experience.

　　Familiarity with electron microscopy concepts and techniques including, imaging, EDS, WDS and EBSD.

　　Experience with metallographic sample preparation and microstructural evaluation.

　　Experience with investment casting, forging, aerospace coating or heat treatment production processes.
