People who want to make a difference.Relocation may be offered for this position.PurposeThis position exists in order to increase productivity, improve product quality, improve safety, and increase profitability of the alloy steel business. The primary focus of this position is to specify requirements and provide a technical and economic evaluation of manufacturing equipment for potential use by the steel business. This position applies a wide variety of disciplines to complete projects including engineering, project management, cost management, contracts, procurement, negotiations, time and schedule management, management presentations and team building. This position also helps develop less experienced engineers and acts as a mentor. The engineer will lead and manage electrical engineering projects from conceptualization to full installation - developing plans, budgets, writing AR's, directing outside engineering and coordinating internal engineering and support personnel, developing construction schedules, purchasing equipment, training operators and maintainers, debugging equipment in order to support steel manufacturing operations continuous improvement efforts. The engineer also conducts feasibility studies and engineering analyses including failure analyses, prepares appropriation requests, directs outside engineering work, develops project schedules, controls spending, creates specifications, manages field construction, and ensures accurate documentation.Responsibilities* Increase plant productivity by implement continuous improvement plans of the plants.* Improve product quality by meeting customer (internal/external) expectations. Establish and maintain standards of quality to ensure project effectiveness.* Provide a technical, economic, and risk assessment of ideas and projects and then define project objectives and the activities and resources needed for their achievement.* Independently be able to make decisions on engineering problems and methodology which require a broad, comprehensive knowledge of equipment and practices and uses sound judgement and creative imagination.* Lead and manage projects to meet the desired goal in set time frame and within budget. Projects range in value from a few thousand to 50M.
