  Description Senior Electrical Design Engineer If you like the outdoors, the reward of designing consumer products, and a great team environment, this position is for you. Responsible for origination of concepts, prototyping, detail design, testing, specification, documentation and qualification of products throughout the product lifecycle. Independently, performs innovative, complex electronic and/or electronic design and development for new products from conception through production release and designs improvements for existing products. Establishes and meets targeted project deliverables to include product requirements, timeline, cost and quality objectives. Work closely with other Engineering disciplines & Product Management teams to develop the best products in the fishing industry. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Take a lead role in the development of new products from initial concepts, design prototyping, product testing to production implementation Work directly with Product Management and Engineering Teams to define product specifications Assist both internal and contract manufacturing resources to determine production test and incoming quality inspection requirements for producing reliable and cost effective products Consulting with team members to trouble shoot and determine best cost solutions to complex design issues that may develop during the design process Define and document prototype performance and field test requirements to ensure final products meet specifications and perform to end-consumer's high expectations Actively involved in supporting timelines to ensure product launch dates are successfully met Work with Procurement Team on supplier evaluations and recommendations Assist business operations in managing outside suppliers in the development of new products and cost effective manufacturing processes Perform other assigned duties SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES None EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BSEE), electronics engineering (BSET) or equivalent. Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design engineering within consumer product design. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Preferred background/experience to support hardware design for Motor Controllers. Preferred background/experience to support Wireless controls, to include RF, BT and leading technologies Preferred background/experience to support the design and fabrication of Permanent Magnet and Brushless DC motors Preferred background/experience to support the design of Switch Mode Power Designs (DC marine battery chargers) Preferred background in embedded C programming for 8, 16 or 32 bit microcontrollers Advanced knowledge and skills in the design, evaluation and testing of electronic and/or electrical circuits and components. Knowledge of and experience in reading and drawing schematics. Advanced understanding of and experience in product development from concept through production which includes a core understanding of development product process(s), financial modeling and timeline management. Proven experience in generating, designing and executing concepts into manufacturable designs. Demonstrated creativity with strong analytical and technical expertise. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with a variety of internal teams as well as external contacts. Advanced proficiency with specific computer based analysis, simulation and design tools. Preferred experience with Altium (list others).
