LinQuest is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Junior (NAVWAR) to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. An active Secret clearance is required.
The Electrical Engineer will be part of a team studying and characterizing the leading edge of the radio frequency (RF) state-of-the-art. The RF spectrum is constantly evolving, and we help the Department of Defense (DoD) understand new capabilities and the effects on military systems of new and emerging RF technologies. Our work is interesting and fun. The Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC) is a military organization located on Kirkland AFB.
The Navigation Warfare (Navwar) Engineer helps plan field and lab experiments or technology demonstrations to collect and analyze data that characterize the effects of Navwar systems. Candidate will work as part of the Engineering branch dedicated to conducting tests and experiments producing reports of results.
The work is performed in Government facilities and will require travel with the possibility of overseas travel to support tests and demonstration. For example, we conduct bi-annual testing at the Woomeara Test Range in Australia. Position is part of the Navwar Engineering Division comprised of Government and Contractor staff members.
Responsibilities:
Assist Senior engineers plan and conduct field and lab events that simulate a Navwar RF environment.
Configure RF emitters that meet test objectives while confining RF energy to the range
Incorporate data into commercial and locally-developed analysis tools to produce information for specific purposes
Seek opportunities to automate analysis by creating scripts that improve analysis efficiency and effectiveness
Create RF signals on signal analyzers in preparation for test events
Configure test equipment in preparation for “live air” field events
Prepare equipment for load on trailers and shipment to the test environment
Set up emitter sites according to the test plan; establish network controls for remote operation
Test equipment in the field and monitor operations and data collection during test events
Re-deploy equipment to the warehouse and complete recovery checklist; reconfigure and test emitter systems
Help team build micro radios and other hardware-in-the-loop systems that allow dynamic test adjustments
Required Skills and Experience:
Ability to communicate clearly using oral or written media
Skilled use of data collection and management tools such as MATLAB and LabVIEW
Capability to write software routines and macros to automate data processing and analysis
General understanding of RF systems and the capabilities they provide
2-5 years of test experience (including college)
BS degree in Electrical Engineering
Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
Preferred Skills:
Advanced degree a plus
