Electrical Engineer Intern – Summer 2024 Location: Greenwood Village, CO CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years’ experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers. CLPE is accepting resumes from Electrical Engineering juniors and 1st semester seniors for our summer internship program. Summary/Objective: Under the direct supervision of staff engineers, the intern will perform entry-level engineering, administrative, and technical work in order to gain work experience related to their electrical engineering degree program. Duties and Responsibilities: • Will use CAD software to update drawings for electrical systems including high voltage utility substations, switching stations, and commercial/industrial power distribution systems. • Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs. • Update, and maintain GIS database for electrical distribution system. • Support the development of concept design alternatives, engineering calculations, analysis, and engineering estimates for small-scale system improvement projects for substations and distribution systems. • Other duties as assigned. *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience: • Undergraduate student currently enrolled in an electrical engineering degree program at an accredited university. • Interests/coursework in power systems and the electric utility industry. • Working knowledge of CAD software preferred. • Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word and Excel. • Strong oral and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills supporting the ability to work effectively as a contributing team member. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: • This is a full-time hourly position for the summer months. Office hours of work are Monday through Friday. • There is no relocation assistance provided for the internship. Work Authorization/Security Clearance: • You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Compensation: • $21.00 - $26.00/hour depending on experience.
