Description
The Electrical Engineer supports the design of industrial, commercial, and healthcare projects. To successfully perform in this position, the following skills are needed
Electrical building systems design; experience with Revit a plus.
Familiarity with Life Safety Codes, Local and National Electrical Codes, and Building Codes at local, state, and national levels.
Proficiency in engineering analysis and calculations; lighting, voltage drop, branch circuit, and feeder sizing.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members, customers, and clients and to present to clients.
Must be able to walk job sites, climb ladders, occasionally lift up to 30 lbs, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and climates.
Must be able to maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with the ability to travel to meetings and job sites.
Typically, these skills are acquired through five or more years of experience in designing electrical building systems. This role does require a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or other ABET accredited engineering degree with an emphasis in electrical systems and PE registration or the ability to obtain registeration within one year of hire.Duties include • Creating drawings and system design including electrical calculations, equipment analysis and selection, and layout. • Reviewing drawings supplied by vendors, clients, engineers, and architects; researching document findings and provide recommendations for necessary changes. • Participating in team coordination meetings and reviewing with project teams and various governing agencies to ensure code compliance. • Designing and detailing of electrical systems; writing/editing electrical specifications and researching design options to make educated decisions on appropriate device, equipment, and system selections. • Performing energy modeling studies and assisting project team in all aspects of sustainability and energy use reduction. • Creating addendums, requests for information, change proposal requests, and changes orders; incorporate agreed upon changes into project documents.EEO EmployerMust pass a drug screen upon hire.
