Reference #: STEEMCleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Engineer at our Steelton facility. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and other technical resources to drive results.
Summary of ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.Diagnose and troubleshoot programming and electrical issues.Create, modify, and confirm programming logic.Recommend and/or perform predictive, preventative, and emergency maintenance on equipment.Resolve equipment malfunctions, including those requiring scheduled shutdowns or breakdown action.Analyze and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings of electrical systems.Manage the planning, scheduling, and cost controlling of maintenance and engineering projects.Manage technical aspects of assigned projects in accordance with customer contract requirements, budget, and production schedule. Seek methods or procedures that reduce costs and/or increase production efficiencies.Analyze current operating performance and standard operating procedures and make recommendations for improvement.Supervise a crew of hourly maintenance employees, and uphold and enforce safety, environmental, job procedures, and maintain general discipline of the crew.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent relevant experienceMust be able to work in a hot, dusty environment. Climbing stairs, ladders, and walking inclines. Able to work/walk safely on uneven surfaces.Must be able to perform duties on different shifts for a multi-level organization which operates 24/7Proven communication (verbal and written), analytical, organizational, and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuitePreferred QualificationsThree years of experience in a heavy industrial environmentEngineering experience in steel mill, manufacturing, process, production, or equivalent facilityWorking knowledge of industrial wiring, controls, and instrumentationExperience supervising or readiness to superviseAble to read, troubleshoot, and write ladder logicExperience in tuning and calibration of PID loops and controlExperience with PLCs, AC/DC drives, and HMI setup, programming, and configurationKnowledge of safety and health policies including key components of the OSHA regulationsApplicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
