Overview
ABM Mission Critical Facility Support Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (PE) for our Electrical Maintenance Contract at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create designs in medium and low voltage power distribution. This includes, but is not limited to, grounding, lighting, motor control, variable frequency drive, and misc. equipment specification and selection. The majority of the design work is maintenance upgrades and additions to existing installations.
Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70e) standards for providing services and completing tasks.
Familiarity with NETA ATS / MTS. Will be asked to review NETA test reports.
Follows design procedures to ensure effective completion of design and analysis functions.
Coordinates closely with other stakeholders to maintain schedules and effect necessary revisions as required.
Achieving high customer satisfaction through effective communication of both technical and non-technical topics both verbally and in writing.
Conduct power studies (over current protective device coordination, short circuit, relay coordination, arc flash, load flow, motor starting and power quality) as required to define the requirements for distribution systems in an Air Force Base environment.
Provide field direction for emergent issues encountered during maintenance and execution of projects.
Ability to contribute positively in a team environment.
Ability to work onsite 7:15a to 3:45p five days a week. No telework is authorized but flexible work hours are possible.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
· An ABET accredited Bachelor`s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
· Current Professional Engineering license (in any US state) to practice electrical engineering or ability to obtain a Professional Engineering License within six (6) months of hire date.
· Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing electrical engineering design for modification or installation of electrical equipment and systems.
· Knowledgeable of current NEC, NFPA-70E, IEEE/ANSI and other applicable current design standards and guidelines.
· Shall have a demonstrated capability to produce electrical designs, analyses, and studies that are required to support modifications and installation efforts.
· Strong understanding of engineering principles, procedures, and standards is preferred.
· NETA testing experience is preferred.
· Experience doing design and project oversight for an electrical contractor or Architecture and Engineering firm is desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
The position requires frequent prolonged sitting in an office environment. The employee will have to enter jobsite environments that require PPE (safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.). The employee may have to turn head and torso, bend and flex arms, wrists, and fingers, reach with hands and arms, lift, or move objects weighing 50 lbs. or more. Position requires that the employee has full use of eyes and ears and full power of speech.
Additional Factors:
This position requires eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance with the United States Government.
