EHS Specialist

The EH&S Specialist is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety programs at assigned facilities under the direction of the EH&S Management team. This position will conduct EH&S Compliance Audits at Hologic sites; identifies and corrects potential hazards; ensures ongoing compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
What to expect:
Administrates workplace safety incident management, including workers compensation administration, and facilitating the corrective/preventative action process.
Assists in the implementation of EH&S programs, policies & procedures including Lock Out/Tag Out, Radiation Safety, Chemical Safety, etc.
Acts as a business partner to employees and managers on all safety related issues; promotes safety first culture.
Monitors/supervises hazardous waste management at assigned facilities.
Provides emergency response support and action planning at assigned facilities.
Assists in the development of EH&S training programs and provides training to employees as required.
Maintains and monitors EH&S records, equipment and the compliance calendar for assigned facilities, including permit submissions.
Provides key performance indicator reporting to Corporate EH&S.
What we expect:
Familiar with federal, state & local (DNREC)EH&S regulations, safety procedures, equipment, supplies, and loss control & prevention theories.
Ability to work cross functionally to establish programs and communicate effectively throughout the organization.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, competent business partner and advisor attitude.
Experience with sustainability principles.
Excellent business and technical writing skills.
Able to prioritize and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision.
Able to deliver EH&S related trainings.
Well versed in Microsoft applications.
Education and Experience
Required:
Bachelor's degree in an Environmental Health and Safety related field or equivalent experience.
3-5 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
ASP/CSP Certification
Master's degree inEnvironmental Health and Safety related field
The annualized base salary range for this role is $62,400 to $97,600 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
