NOTE: This is for one position in the College of Pharmacy on either the Twin Cities or Duluth Campus. Twin Cities job posting: 358103 Duluth job posting: 358105 Position Overview The University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy offers a professional program culminating in the Doctor of Pharmacy degree. The program is delivered on the Duluth and Twin Cities campuses with increasing use of asynchronous materials. The Education Coordinator works in partnership with instructors to assume administrative and logistical functions for educational and assessment activities associated with assigned courses in the professional program. The incumbent works to enable effective handoffs of the cohort to downstream faculty and to provide feedback on preparedness to upstream faculty; supports cohesive and coordinated teaching by managing the block website, schedule and gradebook; participates as a productive, supportive and engaged team member in regular meetings and annual CQI; and function as the "first point of contact" for students, including managing attendance issues, accommodation requests or difficulties accessing course materials. Duties and Responsibilities Module Coordination - 65% * Work in partnership with Block and Area Leads on the execution of course preparation, delivery, closing, and evaluation. * Consult with Block and Area Leads to bolster student learning, engagement and success. * Serve as a student advocate and build strong professional relationships with the faculty and students * Communicate with students regarding course expectations * Serve as a liaison between students and the proper offices and/or authorities on-campus when problems arise, and make appropriate referrals (e.g., student counseling services, academic advising, disability resource center, international student and scholar services, etc.) * Solicit and make autonomous decisions regarding student administrative requests, such as exam scheduling, extension and incomplete requests that do not require instructor authorization. * Optimize the block website and communications procedures to ensure a cohesive experience for students and faculty. * Coordinate the production of course materials including: Implement technology for delivery of assignments, quizzes, exams, and grading rubrics, ensuring that assessments are based on intended learning objectives Evaluate all materials to ensure consistency with the University's and College's formatting and accessibility initiatives * Work with Block and Area Leads to provide troubleshooting should technical issues arise in the course and/or with specific students. * Attend applicable meetings and report pertinent information to appropriate team members * Assist in tracking student progression and communicating with advisors Module Evaluation/Improvement - 25% * Work in partnership with Block and Area Leads to improve and develop the execution of course assignments, activities, and evaluation methods. * Facilitate regular feedback from student representatives, town halls, etc. to enable responsive improvements * Develop and utilize centralized systems to track teaching and learning to support curricular coordination between the blocks. * Work with the Professional Education Program Council and personnel in Assessment & Quality to coordinate evaluation plans and reporting Miscellaneous - 10% * Professional development * Other duties as assigned Supervision None Working Conditions Office environment/no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands. Working Arrangements This role is offered as a hybrid position (some combination of onsite and remote) where you are required to be onsite at our Minneapolis, MN-bas d campus on a regular basis. Qualifications Required Qualifications * BA/BS degree required. Three years of related academic experience with a related BA/BS degree or four years of related academic experience with a non-related BA/BS degree. * Effective customer service, communication, problem solving, critical thinking and negotiation skills. * Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively in a complex interdisciplinary setting. * Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to adhere to timelines. Preferred * Experience should include 2 years working in education (work in a health profession school or other higher education setting is a plus). * Experience with synchronous and asynchronous educational modalities, creation of multimedia educational presentations, faculty development, media formats, and active learning.
