We are currently looking for a strong Distribution and Inventory Supervisor to join our team at our site in Obetz, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of shipping, logistics, fulfillment and warehouse operations, as well as people management experience.
Essential Responsibilities:
Shipping, Logistics, Fulfillment & Warehouse Operations
Oversee and direct the day-to-day shipping distribution operations and staff to ensure orders meet delivery targets.
Suggest and contribute to process improvement initiatives to improve department efficiency and scalability.
Maintain adequate shipping and packaging supplies, placing orders as needed.
Maintain and manage product inventory.
Provide regular updates and escalate issues to Sr. Shipping Manager as needed.
May be required to operate forklift and/or drive company vehicles.
Staffing and Management
Maintain an organized, safe and healthy work environment for shipping employees.
Anticipate staffing needs; participate in the recruiting process or work with temporary agencies as needed.
Monitor daily employee productivity targets. Provide ongoing training, feedback and coaching.
Act as a liaison between team and management and report on shipping activities and issues.
Partner with General Manager to plan and facilitate Shipping team to assist with manufacturing support as needed.
Qualifications:
5 years’ experience in a Shipping operations environment with 2+ years’ experience in a Shipping management or supervisory role.
Warehousing experience with working knowledge/experience with Netsuite WMS or comparable shipping/inventory management software.
Understanding/experience with logistics (including international).
Vendor management skills and experience.
Knowledge of workplace safety best practices.
Very reliable, able to work on-site Monday–Thursday as well occasional overtime and weekend hours.
Strong interpersonal, conflict management, and communication skills.
Strong judgement, able to make independent decisions and solve problems.
Technical ability and competent in software tools including Microsoft Office Suite.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Forklift certified or ability to meet certification requirements. Current driver’s license with clear driving record.
Preferred Experience
Knowledge/experience with lean manufacturing principals and/or ISO certification processes highly desirableAs of 01/01/2023, the expected salary range for this position is $50-75,000 USD. Actual pay within this range will be based upon several factors, including without limitation education, work experience, certifications, geographic pay differentials, market conditions, and other business and organizational needs. The Company anticipates that the reasonable expected salary for this position could change in the future and, therefore, the Company retains the right to change, modify, or revisit the salary range for the position for various reasons, including the Company’s business needs.
