About Director/Sr. Director Pricing and Contracts

  Position Overview:

  We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pricing and Contracting Director/Senior Director to join our growing company. This role will report to the Vice President of Market Access and will be instrumental in shaping and implementing pricing strategies, negotiating and managing contracts, and optimizing revenue streams while ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical, payer and government landscape.

  This is a hybrid role - our work from home days are Monday and Friday and our in-office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

  Responsibilities:

  Offer strategic insights, recommendations, and actionable plans based on data-driven assessments to guide pricing decision on seladelpar that will drive business outcomes that impact gross to net (GTN) in Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid segments

  Develop comprehensive pricing strategies that encompass product positioning, competitive landscape analysis, and market segmentation.

  Utilize insights from market research, price analysis, and product lifecycle considerations to establish optimal pricing structures that maximize profitability while ensuring market competitiveness and access with payers.

  Collaborate with national account directors to negotiate and execute complex contracts with healthcare payers, including managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit managers, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.

  Working with the forecasting and finance teams, develop models to anticipate financial impacts of pricing and contract terms changes.

  Collaborate closely with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure contracts and contract language are aligned with regulatory requirements, mitigate risks, and safeguard the company's interests.

  Foster strong partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Forecasting teams to align pricing strategies with product commercialization plans and overall business objectives.

  Collaborate on go-to-market strategies, promotional programs, and market access initiatives to ensure pricing strategies complement broader commercial efforts.

  Proactively seek opportunities for process enhancements, system improvements, and innovative approaches in pricing methodologies and contract management.

  Stay updated on industry trends, evolving regulations, and market dynamics to adapt strategies accordingly.

  Qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)

  Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in pricing, contracting, or revenue management within the pharmaceutical or payer/government industry

  Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical pricing strategies, payer contracting levers,  reimbursement, and government healthcare policies

  Proven track record in negotiating and managing contracts with healthcare payers, government agencies, and other stakeholders in the pharmaceutical landscape

  Experience in leading and developing contracting models, analytics, and forecasting techniques

  Experience in negotiating contracts in launch products

  Excellent understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements related to government price reporting

  Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills

  Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management

  Proficiency in relevant software and analytical tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Tableau)

  The anticipated annual salary range for candidates who will work in Newark, California is $215,000-240K (Director level) or 240K-280K (Sr. Director level).  The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. CymaBay is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
