Building on its global portfolio of opioid use disorder treatments, Indivior has a pipeline of product candidates designed to both expand on its heritage in this category and potentially address other chronic conditions and co-occurring disorders of SUD, including alcohol use disorder and cannabis use disorder.POSITION SUMMARY:The Director, State Government Relations & Public Affairs is accountable for execution of comprehensive public affairs and lobbying efforts in a given region as part of a team covering the 50 states and territories. The position will be responsible for managing, engaging, and shaping relevant state issues in his/her territory, with a key focus on criminal justice systems and addiction policy, and on ensuring patient access to addiction treatment generally and particularly in criminal justice settings, among other goals. The Director will manage contract counsel and contract public affairs firms in key states and work independently in others. The position will work with the Indivior medical and managed care teams, and with an array of 3rd parties, including independent trade, patient, and professional organizations, to advance company objectives on regulations, legislation, and health care financing.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Areas of responsibility include appropriately shaping state initiatives, legislation, regulations, appropriations, and budgets related to treatment for opioid use disorder, substance abuse, dependency, and behavioral health. The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
Guide and represent the company on state government initiatives regarding addiction treatment and oversight, treatment in criminal justice settings, state public payers, and state grant programs.
Build, manage, and deepen Indivior's relationships with state government officials and key third-party groups to support Indivior's position as a respected, reliable, and credible partner and contributor on addiction and treatment in criminal justice settings.
Build and execute issue specific lobbying and comprehensive public affairs campaigns to create a positive operating environment for all aspects of the Indivior business and objectives.
Collaborate with leaders of government, industry, provider, and patient advocacy groups and others to shape relevant public policy and monitor government initiatives.
Ensure that state policy and legislation enable patient access to treatment and promote a positive policy and legislative environment.
Anticipate and address policy and legislative developments with strong, well-coordinated advocacy strategies drawing on Indivior's broad stakeholder relationships and though
