We have a current opening for a Director of Development who will receive general direction from the President & CEO to lead the Agency's Development efforts and manage staff and volunteer development activities designed to promote annual, capital, major and planned gifts as well as expand Agency's Donor Base. Maintain existing Development relationships and develop new Agency Development relationships. Significantly increase Agency's Development revenue and Donor Base annually.Build and maintain donor prospect lists and relationshipsConsistently increase Agency's Donor Base, inclusive of Annual, Major, PlannedGifts and Capital DonorsDevelops an Agency Development Case Statement/Giving Proposition suitable to President & CEO and ensures that message is consistently utilized in all written and verbal communications. Updates same as required.Coordinate schedule with President & CEO to steward donors and Board members.Proactively work closely with non-Development Staff whose expertise can help improve the Agency's Development resultsWork closely with President & CEO, Vice Chair - Development and Agency Directors to energize the Agency's Development efforts and help foster an environment where-by development in all its forms is a primary focus of our BoardEnsure the production and timing of all direct mail, telephone and face-to-face appealsEnsure the timely submission of foundation grant proposals and reportsResearch individual donors and corporate foundation funders, develop and maintain relationshipsCoordinate activities to meet Development goals. Solicit gifts, and "make the ask" for sameCoordinate Development related volunteer meetings and Donor Relationship meetingsEnsure the receiving and recording of contributions, maintain accurate files and financial recordsPrepare statistical reports on the Development ProgramEnsure gift acknowledgement system that thanks donors within three working days of gift receiptCoordinate activities to meet capital, annual, major, planned gifts and financial goalsDevelop Department Budget and operate within same, taking corrective action as requiredDevelop annual key results and action plans for Development, Marketing and Public RelationsEstablish cost center based annual budgets for Annual Fund, Planned Giving, Major Gifts, Special Events, and Capital Campaign activitiesManage income and expenses to ensure achievement of net goal targetsQualificationsBachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, preferably a Masters in Nonprofit Management, English, Communications, Marketing or Sales: or minimum of eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CFRE certification preferred.Experience with MS Office and Raiser's Edge.Experience in successful coordination of direct mail campaigns, special events, foundation solicitations, capital campaign, major gifts and planned giving progr
