Job Summary:
Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund (ASPSF) seeks a Director ofDevelopment to lead the fundraising efforts to meet the financial needsof the organization. This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid position (parthome, part office, part travel). Starting Salary: \$90,000. The Directorof Development is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directingASPSFs statewide fundraising efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and successfully implement a comprehensive development plan tomeet assigned revenue targets, including state and regional events,grants, campaigns, and solicitations.Directly supervise Development Department staff; provide support andtraining to all agency staff.Work closely with Executive Director and Finance Manager to setannual fundraising goals, project revenues, and manage the budget.Work closely with the Communications Director on materials andmarketing needed for events and campaigns.Serve as the primary contact for ASPSFs largest donors - preparingproposals, providing updates, and ensuring strong relationships.Lead the creation and launch of new fundraising initiatives, addingenergy and excitement to our fundraising while attracting theinterest of now potential donors.Research potential major donors and prospects for legacy gifts.Ensure volunteers are used effectively to enhance agency fundraisingsuccess. Establish and enforce policies related to volunteers infundraising.Collect and effectively use fundraising and data to enhancefundraising success.Submit required reports by established deadlines, maintainscrupulous donor records including gifts and pledges received, donorprofiles, dates of communications and interactions, pertinent donorhistory and life changes, etc.Other responsibilities as assigned.The successful candidate will show evidence of the following skills:

An articulate and effective public speaker.An experienced trainer, able to effectively present information,respond to questions from trainees (staff & volunteers), leadpractice sessions, assess skills, and provide feedback forimprovement.Critical Thinking Skills:
Able to identify problems; collect and analyze data; and thinkstrategically while managing multiple tasks and deadlinessimultaneously.Technology Skills:
Intermediate skills in MS Word and Excel.Basic skills in PowerPoint and contacts management.Comfortable and capable when learning new systems.Qualifications:
Lives in Arkansas (or recent AR resident willing to relocate to ARwithin three months of starting employment).Significant connections in the state.Bachelors degree and five years of paid nonprofit fundraisingexperience.Documented success securing individual and corporate donations andmajor gifts from AR donors.Experience with a variety of fundraising methods (ex: direct mail,special events, retail sales, monthly giving, multi-year giving,campaigns, etc.). Experi nce with Planned Giving a plus.
