The Director of Development is responsible for implementing the most efficient, effective, and creative giving strategies for the Mid Foundation and evaluating the results for continued improvement. This position will focus on annual and major gift efforts including prospect and donor engagement, solicitation, and stewardship. It will also take the lead on special events and sponsorships.
This position works in a collaborative environment dedicated to advancing the mission of Mid Michigan College and the Mid Foundation through building positive and meaningful relationships with co-workers and constituents.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop an annual giving plan utilizing best practices and data-driven analysis to increase revenue and overall donor engagement including direct mail, e-communication, and personal solicitation.
Actively engage and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Remain current on fundraising, direct marketing, and volunteer management trends, practices, and procedures used in higher ed advancement, and apply them strategically.
Plan and implement special events that are mission-driven and engage donors and friends of the college. Develop and implement creative opportunities for sponsorship and community engagement.
Develop donor loyalty and build a foundation for future major donors by providing exceptional stewardship and customer service.
Contribute to maintaining the integrity of the donor database. Identify and research potential new sources of funding, including foundations and individuals, with external partners and staff, and stay current on trends and opportunities. Review and check data lists for quality.
Work with internal partners to create dynamic messages for direct mail, e-solicitations, newsletters, invitations, and other publications as necessary that will connect with alumni, donors, community members, and friends of the college.
Collaborate with colleagues across the institution to support the development of resources for programs and pathways, athletics, and student services.
Support the growth of the Mid Alumni Association including communication, engagement, and giving. Oversee the Alumni Advisory Council.
Support and serve as a role model for our mission, vision, values, and customer service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures, and compliance guidelines. Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations guiding the function.
Serve as a representative of Mid at all appropriate public functions -- day, evening, and weekend.
