　　Your New Role...

　　This critical leader is in charge of setting and driving forward CNN International's news agenda - when both leading and managing breaking news coverage, as well as commissioning and overseeing world-class day-to-day news stories.

　　This includes responsibility for all aspects of the newgathering process. This involves, but is not limited to, editorial oversight, the safety and security of field teams and wider newsgatherng staff; compliance on legal, ethical and standards issues; financial responsibility for the monthly newsgathering budgets and ensuring that the global newsdesks are operating at the highest editorial and content delivery levels.

　　The Director of Coverage is audience-focused, and has a clear understanding of how content reaches audiences on different platforms. and is a key partner in ensuring that happens.

　　The Director is accountable to the senior management and executives of CNN across all platforms to execute on delivery of the highest standards of journalism.

　　They are responsible for accuracy, creativity and the brand of CNN.

　　Your Role Responsibilities...

　　Enterprise reporting, delivering scoops and developing stories and themes of coverage.Coordinate and direct newsgathering in the field including deployments, security, editorial and compliance oversight.Responsibility for content delivery to TV, digital, social and/or other digital platforms.Protect and enhance CNN newsgathering's industry leading operation.Financial management of newsgathering budgetsManaging a team of news desk journalists as well as daily management of field staff.Accountable to CNN Senior Management.

　　Qualifications And Experience...

　　Extensive experience of running a daily newsdesk in a busy newsroom - preferably an international one.5+ years' experience managing a team of producers and writers.Demonstrated excellence in breaking news situations and crisis management.Knowledge of digital publishing, broadcasting, news industry and the competitive landscape, including competitive news sites, channels, mobile, social media.Ability to translate editorial strategy into daily results.Skilled at adapting to a changing environment and leading others through change.
