Ameresco currently has an opportunity for a Director - Facility Management to join the growing Asset Sustainability Group (ASG) team. This position will perform AM project and program management activities and oversight for a portfolio of facility owners. Responsibilities: Provide leadership, oversight and budgetary responsibility of ASG's Facility Management business practice area Direct and manage key Project Management staff supporting ASG project deliverables; Provide oversight and management of the budgetary process associated with each project, assignment and implementation; Lead ASG's consulting initiatives aiding client's decision development process Support the creation and maintenance of the Facility Management Framework and supporting Project Management toolkit; Lead the FM team and support the active management and implementation of new and existing clients Provide Consultative Strategic planning lead for facility management and engineering opportunities Lead data driven decision making to optimize overall portfolio performance Cross-functional collaborations with internal teams including but not limited to; capital planning, operations and maintenance, energy & climate, energy analytics, and customer success team Develop, lead, and continuously improve facility management and engineering consulting practice for the entire ASG client portfolio. Integrate facility management and engineering standards. metrics, kpi's Leverage industry knowledge and expertise in facility management to help enhance software solutions Support cross functional business development pursuits Up to 30% travel may be required Other job duties as required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and experience both operating facilities and providing AEC services in the built environment. Minimum of (15) years of experience working on the owner side of the facilities management industry with at least 10 of those years in senior leadership or Director equivalent role. Experience working in AEC (architecture, engineering, contracting) industry providing facility solutions for client portfolios. Professional certification in facility management (CFM, ProFM, CEFP, FMA) is required. Additional Qualifications Ability to develop and perform cost-benefit analysis of in-house or self-perform facility services vs. outsourced solutions for facility management and engineering. Ability to develop and perform workforce optimization consulting services including but not limited to; knowledge management, succession planning, and employee training programs. Serve as SME (subject matter expert) for the following facility management functions; custodial, security, safety, emergency management, event management, receiving, guest experience, material handling, laundry, vertical transportation, food service equipment, pest control, and technology systems Experience operating building automation systems (BAS), lighting systems, HVAC systems, electrical distribution systems, and plumbing systems. Understanding of these systems and their impact to energy management, sustainability, capital planning, and integrated technology solutions. Experience with life safety systems including fire alarm, fire suppression, pressurized air / smoke control and other l fe safety systems. Experience with architectural and envelope assets including roofing systems, windows, doors, EIFS, curtainwall and masonry. Experience with interior finishes including but not limited to; doors, locking systems, fire Experience with hard surfaces, grounds, landscaping and snow removal. Experience performing facility condition assessments. Experience leading a staff of facility professionals and engineers in a building or facilities portfolio. Sound business ethics, including protection of proprietary and confidential information. Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude. Experience developing and administering RFP's for facility management services Experience managing external vendors / facility management service providers OSHA certification and ability to train the trainer Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams Ability to present facility management and engineering research, thought leadership, and best practices at industry conferences and or publishing entities. Proven ability to develop academic partnerships in facility management and engineering education. Experience with learning management systems including content creation, instructional methods, and formative / summative assessments of learning.
