Humana's Corporate Strategy team is a small, high-performing group that works closely with Humana's senior leadership to chart the course for the company's future. In Strategy, you will identify and analyze exciting new growth opportunities and work with business leaders to prioritize strategic investments and execute strategic transformation. The Strategy team leads weekly meetings with Humana's CEO and management team and frequently deliver strategy updates to the Board of Directors.
As Director, Corporate Strategy, you will provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to our most senior leaders through development of enterprise-wide strategic plans and objectives. In addition, you will lead a wide variety of cross-functional strategy projects related to Enterprise growth priorities, provide strategic support for M&A processes and external partnership opportunities, and present progress and recommendations to Humana's senior leadership and Board. Day-to-day activities will include overseeing a team of associates to prepare industry analysis, high level financial modeling, and qualitative analysis and synthesis of strategic options to create executive-level deliverables and recommendations for Humana's senior leaders and Board.
Key responsibilities include:
Working with Humana's leadership team to establish and communicate enterprise strategyDelivering on a wide range of short-term and long-term strategic activities, including strategic projects, strategy execution, and business development/M&A activitiesLeading cross-functional projects, working with the management team and business presidentsConvert strategy into business cases and projects while prioritizing timelines and ensuring consensus and executionSignificant involvement in prioritization of enterprise-wide strategic investment fundsManaging external relationships with key business partnersDeveloping and refining key team operating systems and individual team members
The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader who has worked in strategy development at a top tier strategy consulting firm or in a large corporation. He/she will have a demonstrated ability to influence peers and business leaders. This person must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to work collaboratively with key leaders to shape the priorities and agenda for the Corporate Strategy group.
He/she also will be effective at multi-tasking and possess keen change management skills. Additional skills and competencies include:

Required Qualifications:
BA/BS, MBA, MD or other relevant degrees3-5+ years post MBA consulting or corporate strategy experienceProven experience developing board-ready material and planning for strategic annual meetings for executives and BoDProven experience setting priorities and defining the future direction of a company (i.e. competitive analysis, strategy road map, strategic investment prioritization)Strong business acumen and analytical skills with proven ability to apply foundational strategy principles to a variety of business problemsProven experience working directly with and presenting to Executive level managementPassion for people development and demonstrated leadership success (both internally and externally)Ability to identify, structure and solve business problemsExcellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication and presentation skills with proven experience writing and delivering presentations to members of the management team and CEO.Demonstrated ability to interact with senior leadership internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications:
MD or Clinical experience.Leadership experience at top-tier strategy consulting firm or Fortune 500 corporate strategy teamExperience working in healthcare industry, preferably payer or provider space
Location:
Louisville, KY or Washington, DC. The Corporate Strategy team follows a hybrid model, working together in the office 2-3 days per week.
