At Albany Engineered Composites we are highly regarded for our composite design and fabrication expertise, that is deeply integrated into a wide spectrum of defense programs. Our product range encompasses an array of offerings including complete structural assemblies, flight-critical components, primary and secondary structural elements. Notably, our contributions extend to prestigious platforms such as the F-35 Lightning II, the CH-53K Heavy-lift Helicopter, and the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM).
As a key member of our senior leadership team, the Director of Continuous Improvement will take the helm in leading and executing Enterprise Excellence efforts across our Salt Lake City facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for imparting lean principles, systems, and tools to enhance the efficiency of all business functions within our value streams. Collaborating closely with site leadership, you will drive significant enhancements to our business processes, aligning them with site strategy and a customer-centric focus, fostering a culture of Continuous Improvement, including lean, six sigma, and TOC methodologies.
In this role, you will:* Prioritize safety above all else, maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety for both yourself and your colleagues.* Foster regular interaction with customers to showcase our commitment to enterprise excellence, while also overseeing transparent communication of our plans and progress both internally and externally.* Effectively convey and educate operational teams and all AEC associates on the essence, definition, and continuous refinement of enterprise excellence. This may involve establishing a certification program and a central team responsible for setting standards, behaviors, and ensuring consistency. Regular in-person engagements with small teams at each site may be necessary.* Empower site managers to devise comprehensive development plans for the Salt Lake City facilities, encompassing the creation and execution of annual and rolling 12-month SLC Excellence Plans. These plans should align seamlessly with the AEC's annual Focus document and operational objectives.* Implement standardized Enterprise Excellence practices across the site, including the establishment and deployment of system and tool standards. Develop a shared repository of systems, tools, and visual factory elements to create a unified Enterprise Excellence identity.* Collaborate with site leaders to formulate annual and rolling 12-month plans aimed at achieving significant, quantifiable cost savings. Take ownership of the successful execution of identified cost reduction initiatives.* Assume the role of a change agent, systematically cultivating a culture of Continuous Improvement (CI) within the Salt Lake City operations.* Drive site-wide structured problem-solving and employ Six Sigma process improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.Day8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Our Ideal Candidates:To excel in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Education* Bachelor's degree required; technical engineering discipline preferred* Formal Lean/CI Black Belt certification* Six Sigma training preferred* Experience:* Minimum of 10 years in Manufacturing with 5 years of hands-on lean Kaizen, including VSM, daily management, standard work, cell design, material flow, TPM, SMED, 5S and visual management* Demonstrated experience working as an organizational change agent across multiple sites* Demonstrated track record of CI implementation...
