The Director, Budgeting and Estimation for the TV Production team will report to the VP of Budgeting and Estimation and will work extensively with the Executive Director of Budgeting and Estimation. The role requires collaboration across numerous corporate functions including production, business and legal affairs, post-production, finance and senior management to determine and create cost effective production plans and venues.

　　Core Responsibilities:

　　Prepare production budgets across multiple formats/platforms including key script breakdowns, and application of pertinent rate/fringe schedules for various unions/guilds.

　　Interpret and incorporate above-the-line deals as well as post-production budgets into the master project budget, while working closely with production executives, line Producers, and production managers.

　　Collaborate on the direct implementation of Sony’s budget policies and procedures.

　　Serve as budgeting liaison between accountants, producers and production/financial executives to determine ideal rate structures, schedules and calculations to incorporate into each budget.

　　Calculate cash-flows and provide various analyses and projections for present, future and returning projects, including writers room costs and potential locations.

　　Coordinate with the Budgeting and Estimation department VP to distribute final locked budgets and budget sign-off sheets.

　　Calculate and prepare tax credit estimates for all projects and file tax credit applications for various venues.

　　Perform extensive research as needed on various industry topics that affect the budgeting process.

　　Assist the Sony labor department with various labor studies to assist with negotiations on basic agreements for various unions.

　　Requirements:

　　In depth knowledge of DGA, WGA, SAG/AFTRA, IA, Teamster and ASA union contracts.

　　Understanding how scheduling impacts shows financially across locals/guilds.

　　Strong knowledge of current tax incentive programs and the inner workings of the various on-line tax credit programs, applications and deadlines is necessary to maximize tax credit values.

　　Extensive working knowledge of Movie Magic Budgeting software, Excel, and Word.

　　Strong organization skills for maintaining all departmental artifacts as they progress through the show lifecycle.

　　Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

　　Responding timely to e-mails/inquiries in a professional manner.

　　The ability to work on multiple projects with various stakeholders simultaneously; prioritize and balance workload, work efficiently and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.

　　BA/BS preferred.

　　5+ years’ experience, preferably in a production accounting environment.

　　The anticipated base salary for this position is $131,900K to $176,400K. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits.
