Description:
A tier 1 supplier in the Automotive Industry within the power steering department. The Design Engineer various tasks and responsibilities related to engineering analysis and product development. This includes interacting with a parent company in Japan for training on CAE processes, using Catia V5 software to create 3D designs and 2D drawings, conducting root cause analysis on past design issues, conducting preliminary research for new design concepts, supporting the development process towards production readiness, understanding test requirements and validating supplier test results, providing on-site customer support for troubleshooting and improvement, supporting component and vehicle tuning activity, and attending customer vehicle confirmation events.
Job Responsibilities
• Interaction with Japan parent company, including initial training in Japan focused on CAE process.
• Performing engineering analysis for new product development.
• Utilization of Catia V5 to create 3D designs and issuing 2D drawings for current and new products.
• Root Cause Analysis of past design issues to improve current and future design activities.
• Generating and conducting preliminary research for new design concepts.
• Assisting in development process to achieve milestones toward production readiness.
• Acquire an understanding of test requirements and how they relate to design requirements.
• Review and validation of supplier test results.
• On-site customer support for problem troubleshooting and improvement.
• Supporting component and vehicle tuning activity to establish the target for model development.
• Attending customer vehicle confirmation events
