MassHealth is seeking qualified applicants for the role ofDeputy Director of Special Projects and Policy. The Deputy Director of Special Projects and Policy is responsible for the execution, management or oversight of initiatives and projects at the direction of the Chief of Behavioral Health. The Deputy Director is expected to independently manage workstreams that are essential to implementation of critical initiatives that promote access to services for MassHealth members and support behavioral health provider effectiveness in delivering high quality care to members. The Deputy Director supports the Chief’s and/or other Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) staff workstreams related to policy development and implementation. The Deputy Director is responsible for strong collaboration with other MassHealth units, sister agencies and for maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including managing regular meetings and follow-up action items, convening key stakeholders as needed, and helping drive decisions and/or successful execution in these partnerships. The Deputy Director is well situated to identify opportunities to engage with other agencies/external stakeholders and cultivate collaborative processes. * * _Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_ * /Project development and execution/: In collaboration with the Chief and the OBH Leadership Team, develop and execute on projects and initiatives, including ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and reports, and executing on special projects related to the Behavioral Health Roadmap and other policy initiatives. * /Communication development/: In collaboration with OBH and MassHealth colleagues, staff, develop materials for internal and external communication to present on policy recommendations or implementation status, including written reports, PowerPoint presentations, and talking points. Develop responses to time-sensitive legislative and communications queries from leadership. * /OBH Representation/: Foster strong working relationships and represent OBH at meetings within MassHealth, other state agencies, and with external stakeholders on matters related to assigned projects. _Preferred Qualifications:_ * Strong behavioral health system of care experience, specifically with the Massachusetts Medicaid population. * Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint skills. * Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of behavioral health financial and programmatic data to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. * Ability to determine proper format and procedure for calculating information and presenting information accurately. * Communication and presentation skills, to interact with leadership, staff, providers and other stakeholders. * Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships within the Office of Behavioral Health and across MassHealth units and coordinate the efforts of Behavioral Health management and staff in accomplishing assigned work objectives. * Ability to exercise strong critical thinking skills and sound judgement. _About MASSHEALTH:_ To improve the health outcomes of our diverse members and their families by providing access to integrated health care services that promote sustainable & equitable health, well-being, independence and quality of life.
