  The Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission (MAPAAC) Analyst will work with OGM leadership in the overall coordination and implementation of the work of MAPAAC. The Analyst will coordinate and lead commission meetings, oversee commission membership, complete surveys, analysis of outcome trends, compile reports/recommendations, and will establish and maintain a commission board. The Analyst will provide guidance and input to OGM leadership to incorporate feedback in decisions, processes, and policies of OGM, and help to ensure the empowerment of APA communities. Duties include but are not limited to:

  Provide oversight to lead Commission administrative duties; act as the liaison between the Commission and the State, and work to help the Commission fulfill its mission and vision.

  Conduct comprehensive research and timely projects that support the Commission’s charge to recommend solutions in the areas of education, employment, civil rights, health, housing, senior citizens, mental health, social service, commerce, and other related areas (specific to populations identified by the Commission).

  Recommend to federal, state, and local governmental departments and agencies the creation of services and facilities as the Commission considers appropriate.

  Serve as a reporting agency for the collection and distribution of information pertaining to Commission affairs, and information concerning the regulations, programs, policies, and challenges of identified populations.

  Apply for and accept grants from governmental and private sources to support Office and Commission initiatives.

  Submit a full written report of activities and recommendations each year to the Office, Commission, and identified communities throughout the state.

  This position will work remotely. Occasional travel to the office. All work must be performed in the Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. You must have reliable internet service.

  Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

  One year of professional experience.

  Departmental Analyst P11

  Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

  Alternate Education and Experience

  Departmental Analyst 9 - 12

  Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

  Salary for this position is entirely federally funded. Under federal law an employee whose salary is entirely federally funded may not be a candidate for public office in a partisan election.

  Vacation and Sick Leave:Eligible full-time employees receive between15 and 35 personal daysand13 sick daysper year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

  Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

  Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
