DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis internship is located in the Northcentral Regional Office, Clean Water. As an intern in this position, you will gain experience in water pollution biology as they assist in laboratory and field work in accordance with the Department's protocols. You will assist the biologist in sorting benthic macroinvertebrates, water sampling, meter calibration and measurement, recording data during biological surveys, create maps of sample points, and participate in the cataloging and preservation of macroinvertebrate samples.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time internship that will last from 5/1/2024 to 8/30/2024.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following majors:Fisheries BiologyBiologyEnvironmental ScienceFreshman year completed.Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher).Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.
Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
