DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis intern position is located within DEP's the Waterways and Wetlands (WAW) Program in the Southeast Regional Office (SERO) in Norristown, Pennsylvania. In this position, you will perform a variety of career-applicable assistive work related to the protection and restoration of the Commonwealth's waterways and wetlands, assists with data input, as well as assists with tasks involving watershed protection. Duties will include performing site inspections, compiling field notes and sketches, meeting with various staff members, and preparing letters, correspondence, reports and other written materials.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time internship.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Employment period: May 1, 2024 to August 30, 2024.Telework: Interns will have the opportunity to work from home (telework), part-time on a schedule that aligns with their supervisor, so they are in the office on the same days. No full time telework will be approved. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you must report to the office.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following majors:Civil EngineeringEnvironmental EngineeringGeotech EngineeringFreshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
Additional Requirements:This internship requires a valid driver's license that is not under suspension.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
