Opportunity
We are seeking a Project Engineer – Heavy Mobile Equipment responsible for identifying and delivering improvement projects for the Mining Asset Management Team in Boddington. The Project Engineer will deliver projects relating to all areas of HME asset management including Approved Budgeted CAPEX Projects, Full Potential Business Improvement projects and Defect Elimination Projects in conjunction with Newmont’s central OSN team.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Maintenance Superintendents, Supervisors and Trades people though the delivery of priority projects
Solving complex engineering problems, utilising the OSN maintenance and reliability engineering team as required
Preparation of capital project scopes and deliver projects. Preparing detailed engineering work scopes and managing/supporting the execution of projects tasks including supervision of project team as required
Tracking the execution and effectiveness of all projects as well as managing and reporting on costs relating to all projects
Management of OEMs and facilitation of internal and external support to deliver projects. Coordination of improvement initiatives working alongside site stakeholders and external vendors
Develop and maintain of site project records, technical standards, specifications and standard mechanical drawings utilizing site document control and change management system
Liaise proactively with central Asset Management Team to coordinate operational readiness task relating to changes to or replacement of HME Assets
Demonstrate proactive leadership in achieving a global Newmont culture of safety and health.
Working with the relevant businesses on bucket and dipper design for the HME equipment

About You
We are seeking an Engineer experienced in delivery of key projects with a focus on improving performance. You will have a minimum of 5 years experience in large heavy equipment, complemented with an Engineering or similar technical qualifications.
Your strong interpersonal skills and ability leverage professional relationships to deliver projects in a complex and global organisation structure will ensure your success in this role as will your problem-solving skills to assess information to diagnose problems and opportunities effectively.
