　　Position SummaryThis role installs, manages, and maintains production databases. They also troubleshoot issues, verify data retention and ensure that security procedures are being followed.  This position will take responsibility for the end-to-end design and development of database architectures.  This includes physical data modeling and database design, continuous improvement and optimization of current databases with respect to monitoring, performance, availability, stability, and reliability.  This position will design and execute a data model to support a unified data strategy.Work LocationThis position is a hybrid role (remote option available) with a combination of working both onsite at the Headquarters 2 building in East Lansing and remotely. 　　Database Architect- $80,000-$100,000+ dependent on experienceSenior Database Architect- $100,000- $120,000+ dependent on experience100% Company-Paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Long-Term Disability PremiumsUp to 26 days of PTO within your first year, as well as Volunteer Time Off & 11 Paid Holidays401(k) with an immediate 2:1 MatchTuition ReimbursementUp to 12 Weeks of Paid Parental LeaveEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDatabase Architect:Monitor performance and accessibility for fast query responses to front-end users.Manage parameters, access permissions and privileges reducing overall exposure and risk of confidential data.Setup and manage database servers.Troubleshoot issues and database errors; design solutions to such problems.Develop solutions for both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users.Refine the physical design to meet system storage requirements.Install and test new versions of SQL and MySQL.Write database documentation including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionaries.Responsible for the security and access to data by defining data structure, encryption, and database usable life.Create and maintain database objects such as: tables, indexes, triggers and stored procedures.Ensure that storage, archiving, back-up, and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.Ensure databases have enough capacity for items such as space, connections, and memory.Communicate regularly with technical and non-technical employees to ensure database integrity and security.Perform and schedule routine maintenance on databases to keep them running at peak performance.Assist developers in writing and tuning SQL.Adhere to data retention practices and system lifecycle for the organization.Work with DTS, SSIS, PL/SQL or similar ETL tools.Keeps manager advised of any system problems or events that prevents the ability to fulfill work requirements or compromised systems.Participate in training activities within department or branch, such training helps to ensure staff compliance with Credit Union policies and state and federal regulations and laws.Provide database performance and tuning expertise for query tuning, optimizing data model design, table design, index design, and view design.Proactively suggest new techniques and technologies to improve server reliability.Map out the conceptual design for a planned database infrastructure for new and existing syst
