Description General Statement of Duties: This position is responsible for working with internal staff and
members to maintain the databases, coordinating the assimilation of data between systems and
disseminating information to facilitate membership growth, foster member engagement, and develop
data and technology processes to help the organization track, report, and analyze member data.
This position will greet and interact with members and place and receive phone call inquiries regarding
membership functions. In addition, this position may need to route visitors and incoming calls, type
routine correspondence, help with various office equipment, and work on special projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain database files including lists, authorization cards, etc.; enter
membership data; facilitate the transition of accurate data between databases; process new member
applications; distribute membership packets and other types of member correspondence; prepare
member statistical reports; Reconcile member database information; maintain chapter files, and reviews
dues manifest; and coordinate employee information with employer payroll clerks. Specifically, this
position will:
Administer Internal organizing campaign data, organizing databases, and other technologies
employed during political, internal, and external organizing efforts.
Assist the organization troubleshoot and design dataflow to enable better member and worker
organizing tracking, providing guidance to the Local and on specific campaigns to enhance
member list, member activists list, and other data to enhance member development.
Work closely with department staff to develop processes that help the organization track
campaign and membership goals.
Integrate field data with internal and external data sources in order to provide enhanced
analysis of organizing efforts.
Facilitate and fulfill membership mailings using an assortment of printing, folding, and
processing equipment available.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the work.
Direction and Decision Making: This position reports to the Organizing Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in business,
statistics, or technology is preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of education. A minimum of

three (3) years of database experience and one (1) year experience in statistics or data analysis is
required. The ideal candidate will have a combination of education and experience that would provide
for the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Expert knowledge of CRM databases (e.g. Unionware and Voter Activation Network -
VAN).
Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
Ability to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions,
operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
Ability to share technical knowledge and train staff to be proficient in specific actions.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Access.
Ability to communicate technical subject matter to staff.
Knowledge of local union dues and member tracking systems.
Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a timely manner.
Have strong communications skills; both written and verbal.
